Public Comment Request and Registration Process
(Virtual and In Person)
Members of the public are invited to attend the regular meetings of The Harris Center Board of Trustees, virtually or in person, and may address the Board during the public comment portion of the agenda. Public comments will only occur prior to the consideration of all other agenda items. If you have signed up to attend as a Public Speaker virtually, a meeting link will be provided. Note: Public Speakers will be removed from the meeting after speaking and have the option to join the meeting live click here.
In Person
Members of the public who attend the meeting in-person may make comments by signing up in one of two ways:
- Complete an appearance request form and submit it to the Board Liaison no later than 8:15 a.m. prior to the commencement of the meeting. The form can be found below. Forms will also be available when signing in at the Board of Trustees meeting. (DOWNLOADED PRINTABLE)
- Register online by 4 p.m. before the posted meeting. Members of the public may register online below.
Online/Virtually
Members of the public must register in advance to speak at The Harris Center Board of Trustees meetings. To register, members of the public must submit the registration no later than 4 p.m. on the day before the scheduled meeting and may only register in one of the following two ways:
- Register online by 4 p.m. before the posted meeting. Members of the public may register online below.
- Printing and completing the downloadable registration form found on the right.
- A hard copy may be scanned and emailed to Board.Liaison@theharriscenter.org
- The email must be received no later than 4 p.m. the day before the posted meeting (DOWNLOADED PRINTABLE)

Rules During Public Comment Period
The presiding officer of the Board of Trustees or the Board Secretary shall keep the time for speakers.
Two Minutes
During the Public Comment, members of the public may make comments on posted agenda topics or topics that do not address a specific agenda item. Every member of the public shall be permitted two (2) minutes for public comments at each Board meeting. A member of the public who addresses the Board through a translator will be given at least twice the amount of time as a member of the public who does not require the assistance of the translator.
