LIVE to Empower: Celebrating Recovery Month

Every September, we celebrate National Recovery Month, a time to honor the strength of individuals in recovery and to raise awareness about the importance of treatment, support, and community. Recovery looks different for everyone, but the common thread is resilience, courage, and the belief that healing is possible.

This year, we invite you to embrace the theme LIVE to Empower, a message that reinforces how recovery is not just about surviving—it’s about thriving. The LIVE framework reminds us of the ways we can walk alongside individuals and families on the journey toward recovery:

  • L – Learn about substance use and mental health challenges to replace stigma with understanding.
  • I – Intervene by supporting loved ones in seeking treatment and connecting them with care.
  • V – Validate the recovery process, recognizing that progress looks different for everyone and every step forward matters.
  • E – Encourage hope, resilience, and connection to resources that make long-term recovery possible.

At The Harris Center, we believe recovery is real and attainable for all. Through compassionate care, evidence-based treatment, and strong community partnerships, we help empower individuals to reclaim their lives and build a healthier future.

This Recovery Month, let’s celebrate the stories of strength, honor the voices of recovery, and remind our community that recovery is happening here—every day.

Recovery is possible. Recovery is for everyone. Recovery is worth celebrating.
